The Golfer’s Guide to Mastering Tiger Woods PGA 07

There is a general lack if information on how real golfing fundamentals and techniques can be applied in EA’s Tiger Woods PGA 07. Many times I find golfers frustrated with this game simply because they continue to apply their own special brand golf techniques and tricks that don’t really work in this game, or they do not understand that the game reads their swing differently. Therefore this how-to guide is targeted towards real golfers and helping them bridge that gap between virtual and real. Also I will be using some golfing terminology to help illustrate certain points, however, not to worry I will write this guide it in a language that even the arm chair golfer and non-golfer can understand it easily.

This How-to guide will be split into 6 parts and will focus mainly on swing techniques and fundamentals. I will leave the “green skills” ( i.e. which club to play or getting out of bunkers etc. ) out of this guide at this time.

Part 1: General in Game Mechanics
Part 2: General in Game Mechanics Continued
Part 3: Addressing the ball and holding the Wii Controller
Part 4: Driving
Part 5: Chipping
Part 6: Putting

This post will also be the master list and will link to all the guides that will be posted in the following days to come. Please enjoy and do let me know if you have any comments?

Hi highwayblogger,

Thanks for your comments and for visiting.

Well the Wii does do a fairly good job at sensing the swing mechanics, but to just buy the Wii for golf training im not so sure. Your money might be better spent on real golf lessons or more time at the driving range.

This is because the Wii can be a whole lot more! If you want the Wii for its fun, social gaming potential, or just to play a few quick games alone, then I highly suggest that you get it. But if its just for training or improving your golf skills, nothing beats the green!

Hah-hah, now for swing and tempo training THAT I can attest to. It’s pretty good, so much so that my lower back is killing me, just like a day at the driving range!

I have lost the putting distance read out. How do I get it back?
Thanks,
Tom
