“Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for Wii is the definitive golf game. It’s filled to the top with content, sports spectacular controls enhanced by MotionPlus, and includes great Disc Golf and online modes. Seriously, this is an amazing package made all the better by the peripheral pack- in. Just as impressive, though, is that this year’s effort is so intuitively enjoyable that it has, in my experience, transcended the golf category altogether to become one of those rare Wii games that I will confidently recommend to anybody. Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Boom Blox and now Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 — these are all games that are spectacular because of the very technology that makes Wii great. Like Wii Sports, Woods 10 could not be made as well for any other system. Get out there and support this excellent sequel — a standout effort that will surely be in competition for sports game of the year” ~ IGN : 9.0

—–

“Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 has turned last year’s great near-miss into an all-time classic. Improved motion-control support, more game features, and expanded online modes make it incredibly immersive and authentic. Golf games just don’t get any better than this.

Tiger Woods 10 for the Wii is as close as you can get to a golf course without paying green fees.” ~ Gamespot : 9.0

—–

“With the addition of MotionPlus, Woods 10 on the Wii is a fantastic golfing videogame, besting its console counterparts because of its control options, extra courses, party game modes, and Frolf. Not to mention, it’s casual friendly for anyone to play, but with enough difficulty options for the hardcore to stay interested. It’s almost hard to imagine it getting better than this for the foreseeable future.” ~ 1UP : 91/100

Released just before Christmas, this totally went under my radar. Super Swing Golf: Season 2 is the next instalment of a golf game that is targeted in complexity to be in between Wii Sports Golf and Tiger Woods PGA.

What that also means though, is that Super Swing Golf: Season 2 is still the best overall golf experience you can find on Wii. Swing control tracks well, there’s a ton of accessories, a splash of throwback Tecmo characters (including the legendary Ryu Hayabusa), and a fun core game. Aside from the new additions content-wise the game looks, plays, and feels just like the original did. The lack of both widescreen display and online support – especially when considering PangYa’s roots in Korea, as far as online is concerned – is extremely disappointing, and while the game plays great, there’s no denying it is lacking true greatness in more than one department. Hopefully when We Love Golf (Camelot’s new Wii-exclusive golf game that, by the way, looks nearly identical to Super Swing’s design) launches later this year we’ll see a competitive spark ignited in the Super Swing Series. It’s still extremely fun, but it needs a kick in the ass if it’s going to grow from what it started as over a year ago during Wii’s launch.

Reviewed at IGN with a score of 7.3/10. Honestly I’m not holding my breath, and instead looking forward to the more promising Wii Love Golf! which comes out later this year.

Well it seems to be out in the US beginning of Sept 1, so we are a few days late. Here is the general outlook:

Games Spot: Score 7.0, Good

Tiger Woods 07 for the Wii made a good first impression. Now, just six months later, the series is back for another go in the form of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08. Once again, it’s a good game, but like you’d expect from a sequel that follows its predecessor by just six months, it’s only a slight improvement over Tiger 07.

1up: Score 6.5, Average

Yes, the swing system has been improved in the Wii version, with many of the inconsistencies of last year’s version smoothed out. And while adjusting power is still out of whack — I needed to swing practically in slow motion to hit a shot at anything less than 110 percent — the correlation between the movement of the Wii Remote and your onscreen avatar’s swing is much closer. But this version is so deficient in essentially every other way that even this can’t give it an edge over the utterly uninspired PS2 version.

Game Spy: Score 4/5, Good

Everything about EA Sports’ new Tiger Woods 08 is bigger and better than it was in 07.

Game Revolution: Score “C”, 50%

It feels as though every single idea pitched for how to update Tiger Woods Pro Tour 08 somehow all got approved, regardless of merit. Instead of refining the fundamentals, the title concentrates on unedited excess that doesn’t blend well with a realistic golf game. Though it’s the best example of the potential for a Wii-based golf game, potential is still the operative word. If I had a choice, I would rather watch angry people play golf.
